Baby Shower vs Baby Welcome — What's the Difference?

Baby Shower celebrates the bump; Baby Welcome celebrates the arrival. Both deserve beautiful decor — here's how we approach each.

Clients often ask us whether they should do a baby shower, a baby welcome, or both. Here's the difference:

Baby Shower

Held before the baby arrives — usually in the 7th or 8th month. Decor focuses on the parents-to-be with pastel arches, name reveals, 'Mama to Be' sashes and godh-bharai props.

Baby Welcome

Held within the first few weeks after birth — at home, hospital, or a hotel suite. Decor celebrates the newborn with teddy corners, name boards, balloon walks and welcome-home arches.

Many families do a smaller shower for close friends + a bigger welcome for the extended family. Either way, we customise every colour, prop and prop placement to your photo brief.
